He further noted that its not a very good idea to leave out the application letter from your job application. When this happens, it shows discourtesy and unprofessionalism to the potential employer, He said.
On the other hand, a professionally written, but personalized cover letter is designed to provide an insight of who you are to the potential employer. Most importantly, the job application cover letter shows how well you communicate and deliver yourself in a professional manner.
A cover letter is more than just a mere letter accompanying your resume in job application. It is a very influential tool to get an interview, said Dax, who noted that since the average advertised job opening usually gets around 200 applications of more, potential employers will usually shortlist the applications.
He further explained that applications without a cover letter are the first ones to get dumped in the waste paper basket. The logic is that if you are too lazy to write a cover letter, youll be too lazy to work, said Dax.
