WINDSOR, CT (august 18, 2010) The Yoga calendar pictures classic yoga asanas in unusual settings that will inspire practitioners to transcend limitations. The calendar includes 12 photographs of yoga poses that fuse the physical and spiritual worlds. The just-released Yoga 2011 calendar is published by Tide-mark Press.
Many of the photographs feature poses performed on rock formations. In other photographs yoga teachers are shown at the beach or in a garden. The photographs by Blaine Michioka, strive to inspire practitioners at all levels.
The 2011 calendar captures yoga that brings together head, heart, mind, and body. Each photograph is accompanied by details on the asana and location.
January shows Mayurasana, the Peacock Pose, with yoga teacher Michi Holley perched on a rock above a valley in Maui. In February Anthony Lopedota performs Yoni Dandasa, Womb-Staff Pose, beside the South Yuba River.
