Pulaski, TN. An electric scooter, from Nogas Electric Scooters in Nashville, TN, is the first vehicle charged at the Richland, LLC solar charging station in Pulaski, TN. 75 Miles south of Nashville, a shaded parking area doubles as a solar charging station for electric vehicles.
On August 4th, 2010 local, state and TVA officials converged on Richland LLC manufacturing in Pulaski TN to cut the ribbon on the states first electric vehicle charging station. The solar parking array houses solar panels on the top and shades 12 cars underneath.
The solar power is enough to charge the vehicles with enough left over to power 4 homes generating over 24,000 kWh per year. .
