Press Release:
PokerPages.com announces a fun way for poker players who cannot get to Vegas to still experience the thrill of playing along with the World Series of Poker (WSOP), with the launch of the PokerPages Free Play WSOP (FP-WSOP) tournament series, beginning Wednesday, May 27 through Sunday, July 5.
The FP-WSOP is a series of events that will mirror nearly the same tournament formats being held at the WSOP in Las Vegas. So for every day of the WSOP, nearly the same tournament format that begins that day in Vegas will be held on the Free PokerPages Cardroom software, to its conclusion.
There is no real money cost to enter. However to buy-in to each of these events, players need between 100-1,000 play-money from their School accounts, which are built up playing free play poker on the PokerPages Free Cardroom.
There is no limit to the number of events one can participate in.
"This is a really great way to grab your friends and build on the excitement of your favorite WSOP events," remarked a PokerPages.com spokesperson.
Top three places of each regular event will receive $40/20/10 Sponsorship Points respectively, while the top three places of each Championship event will receive 60/40/20 Sponsorship Points respectively. Sponsorship Points are redeemable for entry fees into major tournaments around the world. All first place winners will also receive a bragging rights banner to go on their profile page.
In addition, the top 10 place finishers of the overall Free WSOP series will share an additional $1,000 Sponsorship Points. The top 10 finishers will be determined by their placement on the exclusive Free WSOP series Leaderboard at the conclusion of the tournament series.
