Its a terrific week for concerts in Montreal, with a number of highlights including Cyndi Lauper, the Moody Blues, and Iron Maiden.
Cyndi Lauper, who celebrated her 57th birthday last Tuesday by releasing her eleventh album, "Memphis Blues", will perform at the Metropolis on 4th July. Laupers 1986 hit "True Colors" rose to No. 1 on the Billboard charts and remains one of her most cherished songs.
The Moody Blues hold a unique place in rock n roll history. They are one of the few British Invasion-era bands to have their hit-making years begin in the early 1960s and stretch throughout the 70s and 80s. Graeme Edge, founding member and drummer, says that the show will include The songs weve got to do otherwise we wont get out alive (are) Nights in White Satin, Tuesday Afternoon, Im Just a Singer (in a Rock and Roll Band), I Know Youre Out There Somewhere and Isnt Life Strange.
Iron Maidens Final Frontier Tour comes to the Centre Bell on 7th July. Their performance is expected to include classics such as Fear of the Dark, Number of the Beast, Running Free and Hallowed Be Thy Name.
Moving on to theater, you can see Cirque Du Soleils much acclaimed Totem at Grand Chapiteau at Quays Of The Old Port Montreal.
It looks like it might be a quiet week for sports, but theres plenty coming up next month with the womens tennis Rogers Cup which will be held at the Stade Uniprix starting 14th August. Also on 14th August the Argonauts will be playing the Alouettes.
